Thanks Kim (via Batty as I had forgotten this remedy)- I'm on the second day of honey for Milou, if nothing else he actually likes it and all the good things in it won't hurt him! Usually with the syringe he does his Linda Blair in Exorcist impersonation, but with the honey water it's as if he sucks it down!
I stopped the Loperal last night to see if the honey alone has an effect on him, but it looks promising.
Question about honey - I've heard that you shouldn't use a metal spoon in it, is this true - who doesn't? I have one of those wooden things but not a jar that allows you to keep it in the honey so it's a pain to clean unless you're putting it into a hot liquid.

I've never heard of not using a metal spoon in honey. I do Maybe you are not supposed to leave a metal spoon in it, like in those pots that have a little spoon attached. I don't think it would matter too much just to get a spoonful out of a jar.
Honey is supposed to have lots of healing properties. Who says cats can not detect sweet stuff, all mine have sweet tooths.

Since Kim suggested it, Honey has become a stapel (sp?) in my 'cat cupboard' ... I'm sure it helped poor Teddy when he had his runny tummy with the added bonus that he loved it too! Mr Teds 'knows' its in the cupboard now so that when I open it to get their food out, he thinks he's gonna get his 'treat' he sniffs round the pot and looks quite perturbed when he doesn't get any
Gentle 's for poor Milou xx I hope he feels better soon

When you are done spoonfeeding with the honey, try mixing it with some wholegrain mustard then spread it liberally over a roast pork joint and see how delish that tastes

Jo, are you making this tonight? I'll be right over
Batty I think Teddy has turned into Winnie the pooh!!!!

When raising orphans sometimes the only way to get them to accept the bottle was too put in a lil honey in the KMR...Bella loved caramel candies and candy canes! I never heard of the spoon issue with honey though...

Actually Carole I did, and it was yummy too I use honey a lot in cooking, it's cheap and easy and tastes so good. (just as nice on toast too)

BTW, Carole - since Milou´s started this thread would you mind adding one or two recent piccies of him? He´s so gorgeous in the one picture I saw somewhere on here!

It's so hot tonight that he and Zoé are spread out on the ironing board which is in front of the window - trying to catch what little breeze their is!
