Lisa - you're right - it's rather hard to translate - and grande really means tall in French - for chubos the French say 'ronde' so maybe ronde mama chat- nah, doesn't work in French - tant pis!

Ah now I think that's an English to American to French translation problem!
Big as in "big boy" = "grand garçon", Big Mama then is Grande Maman and that's what my kids sometimes call their French granny (usually when they are being facetious!)
We'll get there in the end. It's a bit like translating jokes - don't you just hate it when they ask you?!
