siamesechat/chleader.gif Great news Batty! siamesechat/chleader.gif
So pleased Teddy's feeling better. Give him a gentle kiss from us please. siamesechat/wetkissf.gif

Just a thought, it may be worth writing to applaws to let them know the problem you've had with Teddy, particularly as Kim said other people have had this problem, so that they know their food may not agree with sensitive tummies and can make any changes they need to.

oh my poor teddy, glad he seems a bit better today lesley and hope the others don't come down with anything.

ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif Oh Nooooooooo poor Teddy bear, hope he gets better soon Batty, I'm with the others here, it does sound like the new bikkies have upset his tum although sunstroke and poisoning also give similar symptoms.
Keep him indoors and give him plenty of fluids then maybe some scrambled eggs to settle his tum?
Don't envy you the runny poo clearup either, not fun siamesechat/grouphug.gif

Oh Poor Teddy! As I said on the other thread, the Applawse dry gave my lot the runs too! I won't be using it again.. Tansy is normally perfectly OK on her RC dried.. she loves it.. she ADORED the Applawse dried which we got as a sample, but she was VERY poorly on that.. after just one meal.. With the stomach problems she had last year, I am always careful what I feed her.. but that REALLY did disagree with her. It gave Dylan a soft poo too... and Jezabella! Homer was fine, as he didn't get any, he won't eat dry food.. so I KNEW it was that.

I am almost 100% certain that it was the 'Applaws' ohmy.gif and I shall certainly be writing to the company to let them know that I think they need to do a lot more research before they unleash 'any old food' onto the market and into our precious pussums tummies! siamesechat/smiley_troll.gif (I mean whatever are they doing putting Yukka extract in their food...I thought Yukkas were poison to pussums??)

Mr Teddington hasn't had anymore 'runs or pukkies' but he still hasn't been tempted by any morsels of steamed white fish or similar siamesechat/Sad04.gif ..I am still topping him up with the honey water which he seems to really like (brilliant tip Kim siamesechat/grouphug.gif )... He has slept most of the day apart from me disturbing him every hour or so with the syringe.... its been very hot here today so I'm glad he's been indoors in the cool ..they say that a sleep is as good as a feed in babies so I'm hoping its the same for pussums... He has cleaned himself thoroughly (rather him that me siamesechat/th_255.gif ) but his normally luxurious coat is looking a bit 'manky' which is probably to be expected as he hasn't been well... I'm going to monitor him over night again and then if he is still not eating tomorrow then I think I shall ring Mrs Vetty for an appointment...

Thanks to all of you for your kind words..Mr Teddington sends you all a special purr siamesechat/th_feeldaluvsmiley.gif

Glad the Tedster's not throwing up and leaking all over the place now, poor little mad, bet he's feeling rather sorry for himself. I'm sure he will soon be scoffing his tea like normal though once he's had time for his tum to settle.
Do give him hugs from us please Batty siamesechat/SEVeyesB08_th.gif

Poor little Teddy.. What a horrible time you've had. I am glad you are feeling a bit better now.

You could try him with cooked boiled chicken Lesley.. I know my lot love that when they are a bit under the weather.. if you have some of course..

I am sure he will be back to normal in no time.

long as he is sleeping his body is healing, though the honey water is a great idea!

Saikou- 06-14-2009
Some recommend 24 hr fast for the runs, and Teddy's body is obviously telling him thats the right thing to do, give everything a chance to calm down.

I think the company should be written to, but I have seen their stock answer to others complaints and bangs on about new foods being introduced gradually and new foods can cause upsets, which is all true, but not to the extent this food seems to. Being slightly loose is one thing, to actually making the cat feel unwell with it.

If you boil some chicken add a bit of honey into the water, it gives it a nicer smell, more tempting.

Thanks Kim... I've offered him fish and scrambled egg tonight but he isn't interested so I shall get some fresh chicken in the morning and try to tempt him... I'm sure the honey will be too nice for him to turn down - he loves it!

lol he obviously has a sweet tooth. Honey is great for lots of things, but its very helpful in soothing anything inflammed. You can put it on burns. Plus it has an energy value, like glucose.
