You will probably have read my post about the free sample of 'Applaws' dried food.... well as I said they all went bonkers for it but I have to report tonight that Teddy isn't very well... siamesechat/Sad04.gif and I'm wondering if it could possibly be the 'Applaws' he had yesterday??
I noticed this afternoon that Teds was very very quiet and not his normal 'tearing about' self ..then tonight I found a pool of diahorreah at the bottom of the stairs which had streaks of blood in it ohmy.gif so I went to find him and found him sitting quietly in my office.. I picked him up, turned him over to find a very very messy bottom and fur siamesechat/Sad04.gif .. as I picked him up more pools of pooh plopped onto the floor - poor boy siamesechat/Sad04.gif Bob and I washed him with gentle shampoo to make him more comfortable and dried his back end with a towel... he is as the moment laying on my bedroom floor, his eyes are bright but his nose is hot and although I've given him a small bowl of water he isn't interested in it... I have got my syringes out and am about to give him a few mls of water... I shall keep a close eye on him and if there is anymore signs of diahorreah then I shall call the vet...

All the other pussums are fine so I'm not sure if Teds has eaten something that doesn't agree with him or he has a bug? I will keep you all informed xx

Oh my goodness, poor Teddy. I hope he is on the mend soon Lesley. Sending lots of snuggles and get well wishes siamesechat/th_238.gif to Mr Teddington. Thinking of you.

Big Mama Cat- 06-13-2009
poor Teddy baby - I shouldn't think it was the food, but who knows? I hope he is better quickly siamesechat/grouphug.gif siamesechat/th_238.gif it really doesn't take much to get their poo off kilter, does it? Was it fresh blood as if something irritated him on the way out?

prayers and hugs.

Yes Carol, the blood was red and streaked throughout the pooh ohmy.gif almost like his gut lining has been irritated in some way? I'm keeping my eye on him and if there's any change then I'm afraid 'Mr Vetty' will have his Saturday night disturbed! rolleyes.gif

Poor Teddy. It could be the applaws, I have seen similar reports from other people that have tried it. The blood just means his bowel is inflammed. If you are syringing water into him, add a little honey into it as it helps soothe the digestive tract. If you any slippery elm you could try that too.

Give Teddy a cuddle from me. Hopefully 24hrs will see him right as rain. If it is the applaws that should have worked its way out of his system by then.

ohmy.gif No! ohmy.gif Poor Teddy siamesechat/grouphug.gif (though not too hard, I'd hate to be responsible for bringing on more wind blink.gif ). It must be very distressing for both you and Teddy, what a mess to get himself in. Lets hope he'll start feeling better once whatever it is gets out of his system.

Fingers crossed and kissums for Teddy, siamesechat/th_238.gif and a cyber 'nose peg' and siamesechat/toyou.gif for you Lesley.

Oh dear definitely an upset digestive system. Did he bring up food or just foamy fluid ? Is everyone else OK ?

solojaycat- 06-13-2009
Oo poor Teddy, give him a gentle kiss please, I do hope he is feeling better very soon, must be awful for all of you. siamesechat/toyou.gif siamesechat/th_238.gif

Bob cleared the sick up (my hero!) whilst I cleaned Teddy up again...Bob says it was definately food that he brought up which is strange as he hasn't eaten since this morning?
The other seem fine...at the moment ohmy.gif x

Saikou- 06-13-2009
Hopefully, his system clearing everything out from both ends will sort the problem and he just needs a bit of time for everything to calm down and no one else gets ill. If they don't then it probably is the food.

MOZEY- 06-13-2009
Oh dear, another Teddy with the pukes and runs! ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

My Teddy had exactly the same thing in the early hours of this morning. So, OK, my Teddy happens to be one of Hamilton's Yorkshire terrier 'brothers' but, OMG, he literally exploded all over my bedroom carpet! user posted image

I spent the best part of the morning scrubbing and disinfecting the place. blink.gif Obviously a touch of bowel irritation as Lenny had exactly the same thing 2 nights earlier. wacko.gif ... Actually, now that I come to think of it, Hamilton puked up some of ye olde familiar 'brown stuff' 1st thing this morning ... but that's usually down to pushing too hard in his tray or just the result of licking up something he shouldn't! siamesechat/whistling2.gif

Maybe it was the dry food? You'll just have to keep an eye on the poor Tedster.

... Incredible really ... pets for a lifetime ... and a lifetime up to my elbows in p--- and sh--!!! siamesechat/th_GoldStarsForYou.gif siamesechat/congratualtions.gif

Get well soon, Teddy boy! xxx

Thanks to all of you siamesechat/grouphug.gif and especially to Kim for her 'late night' advice siamesechat/grouphug.gif

I'm pleased to report this morning that 'The Tedster' seems to be feeling a bit better... siamesechat/chleader.gif I syringed him with water/honey up till midnight last night then went to bed...I got up early to find him resting on the office windowsill in the sunshine and as I approached he rolled over to let me tickly his belly (not till you clean it matey! siamesechat/laugh.gif ) he seemed thirsty so I gave him some more water/honey mix which he lapped up then he went downstairs and into the garden where he started to clean himself...he's not interested in any food at the moment which I'm not too bothered about but I shall be keeping an eye on his water intake and 'topping him up' if necessary...I've had a hunt round but there aren't anymore 'pools of poo' which is good and he hasn't been sick anymore... hopefully whatever it was has nearly worked its way through now...I'm just hoping that if it was a 24 hr bug that the others don't get it now wacko.gif wacko.gif although I have a feeling it may have been the 'Applaws'

Once again, thanks girlies, I will keep you informed siamesechat/grouphug.gif

Boobeeboo- 06-14-2009
